Emily and Me

Emily and Me

Last night was the graduation of the 2009 Habersham Central Class! I made it right before the graduation began (and thank goodness my parents were there early to save seats!). Several of my good friends who I have known for years are completing the first major chapter of their lives! Of course my sister was the highlight of the evening since she is family. After a fairly lengthy ceremony (made longer by the extremly long class poem) we headed to the lake (of coruse after several photos!). Check out more graduation photos Here.

Afterward we headed over to the lake to celebrate with Cale, Myself, Emily, Mom and Dad! A great day, expect many photos coming in the next couple days.

I came across this video over at North Point Media’s Blog. It is a unique and amusing look inside the Chick-Fil-A Headquarters with a personal tour by Company President Dan Cathy. Check it out!

I officially have only 14 days left of Georgia Tech! I’m finishing up a May-Mester class this week and then have two classes and an independent study left to complete before obtaining a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management!

Freshmen at Georgia Tech

Wow time has flown, it seems like just yesterday I was moving into Towers Freshmen Dorms, trying to figure out if I would enjoy filming Football 24/7 (still trying to figure out that one! Just kidding ;), figuring out what major I wanted to pursue (didn’t figure that one out for a year), and trying to adjust to living in a major city!

My Highschool Graduation (Wow at the hair!)

In two days my sister, Emily, also graduates High School and will be heading off to Lee University! We had her Family Graduation party this past weekend at the Lake House and will be sort of celebrating again Sunday with the old ONEWAY crew at the lake house. I’ll keep you informed as everything begins to unfold!

I promise for more updates (Hey, I’ve got to beat Scott who has actually started blogging again!)

The FreedomFest Promo for The Torch is online and ready to go, check it out. I edited it in After Effects.

I’ve been working on a HUGE After Effects project this week for The Torch and Freedom Fest (July 4th). It’s got over 250 layers spread over 7 compositions with tons of camera movement, effects, blurs and images! Here is a glimpse of my editing screen earlier tonight while I was editing one of the key parts. Check it out this Sunday at The Torch, and check back here next week for an online version!

Oh, and if you’re wondering what Freedom Fest is, it’s The Torch’s July 4th celebration including artists such as Barlow Girl, Shane and Shane, After Edmund, Origin Band, Franseca Battistelli and more! Check out the site Here

I came across this image the other day and felt like it would make a great wallpaper! I did a little editing to it to make it fit my screen and look appropriate, so I figured I would repost it for others to take advantage of! Note– I did not make this image

Classes Start Again!

Posted: May 10, 2009 in Misc.

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, starts another Semester of Georgia Tech. I’ll be finishing up my last 10 hours of required credit this semester and it’s all going to be short semester! In addition to seven hours at Tech I am joint-enrolling with Georgia State for Economics, which should be interesting! The Economics at GSU is May-Mester only, which means from 1:45 till 3:45 every single day of the week for three weeks! The others are just Monday, Wednesday and Friday until June 12th… And then… Well if you don’t know you’ll be finding out soon.. on here!

Oh, and check out the new Blog Header (in about 5 minutes if you are reading this right when I post it)

So I’m sure a lot of people have stopped checking The Blog of Blake Adams on a regular basis, and I must say if it wasn’t my own I would have stopped checking days ago! However, I want to let you know that I will be doing better starting today! I just came off possibly the craziest few weeks of my life! I have been on the road driving for over 20 hours in just the last four days, slept in three different states and five different beds in the last five days, met more people than ever, not to mention running production for a Young Adults conference in Tennessee (and expect other news toward the end of the week).

The Sunrise...

The Sunrise...

This past Friday and Saturday I ran production for the Sync Young Adults conference in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. We ran complete live video, lighting and audio for the conference and our band (Origin Band) also led praise and worship. I left with my production assistant, Taneshia Brown, around 4am on Friday Morning heading up to Tennessee so we could load in tons of equipment to a empty room. We tried to make it to the top of the mountain by sunrise and actually succeeded in our task, however when making it to the top all we could see was clouds… We took pictures anyway 🙂 Making it to the complex by around 8:30am we immediately started bringing in and setting up staging, three projector screens, live video and graphics, a complete lighting system and a complete audio system.

Sync Conference (Yeah, we brought all that!)

In addition to all the set-up I also programmed and ran lighting for the sets! It was awesome! The band finally rolled in around 4pm to set-up the instruments and do a little bit of soundcheck. I stayed around the rest of the night to finish programming lights. My parents also got to make it to the nights service! Service finally got started at around 10:30pm and was amazing! The band rocked out and the speaker was right on point. We finished up around 1am with shut-down and headed out for a late night Taco Bell run (Thanks Josh for slamming on the break spilling Mountain Dew all over myself and Scott!).

Saturday morning we slept in quite late then headed to a group lunch at the Alamo Steak House. I then hung out with my family for an hour or so before heading back to the facility to get everything ready for the nights service (mainly programming lighting!). Saturday night started at 7:45pm and the band rocked out again followed be a great speaker. We finished up around 9:30 and had one of the fastest strikes (tear downs of equipment) ever! We were out of there by 10:45pm! After which I drove up to Lexington Kentucky… but that is another post!

Expect video and more photos from the Sync Conference Soon!
