I’ve finally been able to post the videos from the March 15th 333 Service! Check them out! My current favorite of these four is “Glorious Day”! Wow! We also used several “half fades” in a few of the videos (where one person is on the screen with another) I love these! Be on the lookout for more extensive use in the future! We also introduced live texting to the screen this service which turned out amazing! Audience Members where able to send in text message responses that appeared over the Live Video to questions such as “Jesus I want to tell you…?” We didn’t record this feed, hopefully something we can set-up in the future though! Also be on the lookout for more features in the coming weeks of 333!

Raining at GT Practice

Raining at GT Practice

It has been a LONG week! Football started up and unfortunately it rained most the week. On Wednesday we practiced at Georgia Tech and it rained the entire two hours! It wasn’t an on and off rain, it was  a steady, constant and cold rain! I did create my make-shift rain cover out of ice bags from the trainers. It actually worked out pretty well, unfortunately it didn’t keep me dry!

Falcons Training Facility

Falcons Training Facility

On Friday and Saturday instead of practicing in the torrential downpour we headed up to the Falcons Training Facility in Flowery Branch. Usually we head over to the Georgia Dome however it was being used this weekend. The facility was extremely nice and I would love for us to have an indoor facility!

Figuring out the Lift!

Figuring out the Lift!

Of course the most comical moment of the day came when we were trying to figure out how to operate the lift behind the field goal. It took four GT Video Guys to figure out how to operate that thing!

We had the full police escort to and from the facility which really cut down on our travel time! Saturday morning I drove up so that I could leave afterward and head home. I am very thankful I did because I received word that Bus #4 (The one I’m usually on) broke down on the way back to Tech!

Looking forward to *hopefully* a sunny week of practices thsi week and then I’m heading to Orlando for Sonfest on Friday! It should be a blast!

Alright, I’ll try to keep things more up to date this week!

Me Filming

Me Filming

Today was the first day of Georgia Tech Spring Practice 2009. It’s been a good three months since I last filmed Georgia Tech Football (Chick-Fil-A Bowl), and it was fun to get back in the swing of things. I ran the tower camera today, which entails having to climb a 50 foot ladder with camera gear strapped to your back, not a fun task (The other cameras are on lifts which means you have to simply push a button to go up). It was a 25 period practice, meaning 2 hours and 5 minutes, and it definetely felt that long!

We had two new “employees” today, and lost one, Patrick, who is now a member of the walk-on team. Wednesday is our next day of Practice, and hopefully I will be able to take out my real camera!

Till then here is a Panorama I took with my cell phone camera, so it’s not to good!

Spring Practice- Day 1

Spring Practice- Day 1

I’m reading “Becoming a Person of Influence” by John C. Maxwell right now and am really being challenged by the contents! The first chapter, A Person of Influence Has Integrity with People, really spoke to me. One of my weaknesses, as some of you know, is that I have trouble telling people no when I really need to. This is something I have been working on, slowly but surely. The key point in the chapter dealing with this is:

Fulfill your Promises- Never promise anything you can’t deliver. And when you say you’ll do something, follow through on it. A sure way to break trust with others is to fail to fulfill your commitments.

So as I admit that, take time to examine yourself and see if you are a person of Integrity. Here’s a questionnaire from the book that helps you to measure your integrity.

1. How well do I treat people from whom I can gain nothing?
2. Am I transparent with others?
3. Do I role-play based on the person(s) I’m with
4. Am I the same person when I’m in the spotlight as I am when I’m alone?
5. Do I quickly admit wrongdoing without being pressed to do so?
6. Do I put other people ahead of my personal agenda?
7. Do I have an unchanging standard for moral decisions, or do circumstances determine my choices?
8. Do I make difficult decisions, even when they have a personal cost attached to them?
9. When I have something to say to people, do I talk to them or about them?
10. Am I accountable to at least one other person for what I think, say, and do?

Take a few moments to really think about those questions. I’m still going through them one by one on a daily basis! Become a person of influence by becoming a person of Integrity!

I realize I’m a little late on jumping on the Twitter bandwagon, but I have finally made that leap! Follow me on Twitter by going to www.twitter.com/blakegadams sign up for an account and get in the know! It’s actually pretty convenient and a good way to keep up with people on the fly! It will be like the blog, only condensed to 160 characters or less! So get Twittering!

We recieved this email recently at 333. It is truly amazing to see how God can use media to reach far beyond the walls of The Torch Worship Center. I’m excited that He has blessed me with talents and skills in media and I look forward to the ways in which He allows me to use them for Him! Thank you to the amazing team that helps to make every service possible. You are important and you do make a difference!

Dear 333 Church ministry leaders and team,
I have been meaning to write this email for months essentially. I just wanted to let you know that your ministry is far reaching and that I often listen to worship from your 333 services and other torch worship. I live in New York and am able just to enter into the presence of the Lord through the worship that is posted on youtube and your site. Also, my friends and I have been talking about ‘doing church differently’, sounds similar to what you have begun with 333 service. What a blessing to know that so many are seeking Jesus in a new way and desiring to do things His way!
Praise God for the way He is clearly at work in you all and through you all.
In Him, (Name Omitted)

Winterfest- Part 3

Mark Hall and Me

Mark Hall and Me

I finally had the time to upload and edit my photos from Night 2 of Winterfest this weekend. Night two featured Casting Crowns, Eddie James and Tommy Bates. It was an amazing night of worship and lives being changed! We were able to meet Mark Hall, the lead singer for Casting Crowns, before the service and he is an awesome guy! During service we hung out backstage and I was able to take tons of pictures yet again!

Weekend Recap
So since I have a little more time tonight I will recap our Winterfest weekend!
On Thursday my Sister Emily and I left Habersham around 1pm heading toward Knoxville. After making the three plus hour drive we arrived at the Marriott where Scott and the family were staying (not, as you will find out soon, where we were staying!). Scott, who is on the steering committee for Winterfest and one of the leads of the Operation Team, took us over to the arena to show us the staging and set-up. After the tour him and Holly headed to a dinner while Emily and I accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Kaden to Texas Roadhouse. After riding with Mr. Smith I think I know who Scott got his “expert” driving skills from! Following dinner we headed back to the arena where we hung out with a few of the leaders of Winterfest, then we all went to Krispy Kreme for a late night snack!

After the doughnuts it was time for Emily and me to find our hotel! We we’re staying at… drum roll please… the good old Super 8 Motel! Excluding the lack of a hair dryer, iron, shampoo or house cleaning on the night of our stay (oh, and Emily’s sleep talking!) it was an alright deal!

On Friday morning we made our way over to the arena around lunch to watch Israel Houghton’s sound check and watch the final phases of set-up. Emily and I also did a tour of the University of Tennessee looking for a post office to mail some letters. The rest of Friday Night can be seen on my Previous Post.

Saturday Morning we woke up a little later, but not past 11 because they cleaning staff was knocking on our door then to tell us to leave! We drove over to the mall where I purchased some new clothes and shoes and then we went back over to the arena to see sound check for Casting Crowns and Eddie James.

After the service Emily and I headed back to Habersham so I could get ready for a full day on Sunday! Expect posts about that (333 and Echoing Angels) later on!

Till Then,

Long and Busy Weekend!

Posted: March 16, 2009 in Misc.

Hey Everyone!
Sorry for the lack of posts, it has been a crazy weekend! Just to recap on Thursday-Saturday Night I was in Knoxville Tennessee with Winterfest, then Sunday morning I went down to Gainesville to check out our band at the DNOW conference. Sunday afternoon I directed for 333 and the Echoing Angels Concert (both of which went extremely well!). Today I spent at the dentist followed by striking (tearing down) my gear at the church. Tonight I had dinner with Scott, Holly and the crowd then went and played cards at Bj’s house! In other words I haven’t had time to sit down at the computer!

Over the next few days expect posts about Winterfest, 333 and Echoing Angels!

Till Then,
Blake Adams
